Kit de Waal

Kit de Waal was born in Birmingham in 1960 to an Irish mother and a Caribbean father. She worked for 15 years in criminal and family law and is a coach for families on adoption issues. She studied Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes University. Her first novel, My Name is Leon won Ireland's top literary award in 2017.
