Verena Mermer

Verena Mermer, born 1984 in St. Egyden am Steinfeld, is an author and literary scholar. She has taught at universities in Delhi, Baku and Cluj-Napoca. She has published poetry and short prose as well as two novels with Residenz Verlag. In 2016 she received the Exile Literature Prize for authors with German as their first language and in 2017 the Gustav-Regler-Förderpreis from Saarländischer Rundfunk. Mermer's latest novel "Autobus Ultima Speranza" has been nominated for the European Union Prize for Literature. She lives in Vienna.
