Ulrich Bröckling

Ulrich Bröckling, born 1959 in Paderborn, is professor of Cultural Sociology at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. One of his research interests is the Sociology of the heroic, social- and technologies of the self and the topics psychiatry and subjektivity in the course of time. He is co-publisher of the magazine Leviathan and the online-journal Behemoth. Since 2016 he directs the research project "Sociologic time diagnoses between post-heroism and emerging figures of the extraordinary" in Freiburg.
