Péter Krekó

Péter Krekó is the executive director of the think tank Political Capital Institute. He studied psychology and political science at Loránd University in Budapest, where he is currently lecturing. For the academic year 2019/20 he became stipendiary for the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, as well as the John Hopkins School in Bologna. In his past, Krekó was co-chairman of the EU Radicalisation Awareness Network, a European Commission programme for preventive practices in the effort to counter political and ideological extremism. Many of his articles were published in renowned magazines such as Foreign Affairs, The Financial Times and Newsweek. He received his doctorate in 2014 for his research on the social psychology of conspiracy theories. In 2017 his book “The Hungarian Far Right Social – Demand, Political Supply, and International Context“ (ibidem, Stuttgart) was published.
