Donatella della Porta

Donatella della Porta, born in Catania in 1956, is a political scientis. She is professor for Political Science, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence. As Director she is designing the PhD Programme in Political Science and Sociology. In 2011 she received the Mattei-Dogan-Preis hey impact on modern sociological research. She is the author of 90 books and over 150 papers. In 2020 her book is “How Social Movements Can Save Democracy“ (Polity, Cambridge, 2015). Della Porta lives in Florence.
