Daniela Chiaretti

Daniela Chiaretti, born in São Paulo, is a reporter for the Brazilian finance paper Valor Econômico. She writes about environmental issues and reports on the environmental conferences of the United Nations. Priorly, she was the editor in chief of the magazine Marie Claire and worked for the Gazeta Mercantil, Folha de S. Paulo, Veja and Uol. In 2010, her coverage of the consequences of climate change in the Arctic was honored with the Prêmio Esso de Informação Científica, Tecnológica e Ambiental. Late 2018 Chiaretti was selected to chair the Amazon Advisory Committee with seven other esteemed journalists, coordinating the funding of news reporting of Amazon preservation efforts in close cooperation with the Pulitzer Center and the Norwegian International Climate and Forest Initiative. Chiaretti lives in São Paulo.
