Alfred Grosser

Alfred Grosser, born 1925 in Frankfurt am Main in Germany with Jewish heritage, became a French citizen in 1937. He is an author, publicist, journalist and political scientist. He is a Emeritus Professor in political studies at the Institut d'études politiques in Paris. He was awarded the order of merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his service as a mediator between France and Germany, between believers and non-believers and between different cultures. In 2017 his book “Le Mensch – Die Ethik der Identitäten” (Dietz, Bonn / engl. title “The Human. Ethics of Identity”) appeared. During that year he was also appointed the Mercator professorship at the Universität Duisburg-Essen. Only a year later he was honoured with the Eugen-Kogon-Award of the City of Königstein.
