Aisa Kirabo Kacyira

Aisa Kirabo Kacyira is Deputy Executive Director for UN-Habitat, the United Nations-mandated body with a mission to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. Before taking up this role, Kirabo was a member of the Rwandan parliament and on that nation’s parliamentary committee for local land use and management, settlement and environment. Between 2006 and 2011, Kirabo was the mayor of the capital Kigali and shortly before she started working with the UN, she was the governor of Rwanda’s Eastern Province. She lives in Nairobi.
