Data protection declaration for the use of the websites and internet resources of ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen)

For technical reasons, your Internet browser automatically transfers data to our web server when you access this ifa website. This data includes the date and time of access, the URL of the referring website, the file accessed, the amount of data sent, browser type and version, the operating system and the IP address you use. These data are stored separately from other data that you enter when using our website. The data are not linked to a specific person but are logged to ensure system security and are evaluated anonymously for statistical purposes and subsequently deleted.

3. Collection and processing of personal data
Personal data is only collected and processed if you provide us with this information on our website. This is possible in the following ways:

The personal data that will be transmitted to us is determined by the respective input mask that is used for the order. The personal data entered by you will be collected and stored for the following internal use and for our own purposes:

3.1 Legal basis for processing your data
The legal basis for processing your data results from your consent (in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 letter a DS-GVO (basic data protection regulation) or for the fulfilment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 letter b DS-GVO). Your data will be stored by us for the duration of the validity of your consent or until the fulfilment of its purpose. Afterwards, this data will be deleted if there are no other legal obligations for the further storage of the data. Your data will not be used by us for automated decision making or profiling.

4. Transmission of data
The transmission of your data entered in the forms is always encrypted. Your personal data will be passed on to third parties if necessary for the purpose of processing the transaction - in particular passing on contact data for the delivery of the magazine to service providers or for the billing of your order (payment processing). Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties with your consent, unless there is a legal obligation to do so or in order to protect the rights, property and security of ifa. If external service providers come into contact with personal data, we demand mandatory legal, technical and organisational measures to comply with data protection regulations.

5. Use of cookies
Among other things, our website uses so-called "cookies", which serve to make our internet presence more user-friendly, effective and secure. Furthermore, cookies enable us to measure the frequency of page views and general navigation. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. 5.1 Use of Matomo
After your explicit consent our website uses the web analysis service Matomo. Matomo uses so-called "cookies", which are text files that are stored on your computer and which enable us to analyse the use of the website. For this purpose, the usage information generated by the cookie (including your shortened IP address) is transferred to our server and stored for usage analysis purposes, which serves to optimise the website on our part. Your IP address is immediately made anonymous during this process, so that you as a user remain anonymous to us. 6. Links to other websites
Our internet presence contains links to other websites. We have no influence on whether the operators of other websites comply with the data protection regulations. As a provider, we are responsible for our own content in accordance with the general laws. According to the basic data protection regulations, you have the right to receive information about your stored personal data at any time and free of charge, as well as the right to correct, restrict or delete this data if necessary. Insofar as we have to comply with legal storage obligations, in the event of a requested deletion we will restrict your data for further processing so that it can no longer be used for the purposes stated above. You also have the right to receive your personal data stored by us in electronic form. You can withdraw your consent for the storage and processing of your stored data at any time. In this case we will immediately delete the data stored about you or restrict the processing of data that cannot be deleted due to legal requirements.

8. Data security
Your personal data will be transmitted encrypted over the Internet. We use SSL encryption technology ("Secure Sockets Layer") for this purpose. We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. also in the case of communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. A complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible. We secure our website and other systems by technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons. The security measures are continuously improved in keeping with technological developments.
