Vandana Shiva

Vandana Shiva, born in 1952 in an Indian village at the foot of the Himalayas, holds a doctorate in quantum physics. Since the 1970s, she has been active as an environmentalist, feminist and civil rights activist. She is also a member of the Club of Rome and the World Future Council. In 1993, she received the Alternative Nobel Prize for her work. Shiva lives in Delhi and on her parents' farm in Dehradun.
