Birte Förster, born in 1973 in Ankum, teaches global and interdependence history at Bielefeld University. She researches the history of Africa's decolonisation, media and gender history, and the cultural history of politics. Her most recent publications are "1919. Ein Kontinent sich neu erfindet" (published by Reclam) and - as an editor - "Dantes Verse" (Wallstein).
