Åsmund Asdal

Åsmund Asdal, born 1957 in Bamble, Norway, is a biologist and agronomist. As coordinator of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, he has been in charge of its operation and management since 2015. He is employed by the NordGen Research Centre, which is responsible for the seed vault, among other things. Asdal has been working on plant genetic resources since the mid-1990s. He lives in Grimstad, Norway.
