Andri Snær Magnason

Andri Snær Magnason, born in Reykjavik in 1973, is a writer and documentary filmmaker. His books have been translated into 30 languages. In Iceland, he has made a name for himself as an environmentalist. In 2014, Iceland lost its first glacier, Okjökull, due to global warming. The “Letter to the Future” on the plaque was written by Magnason. His most recent publication was “Water and Time” (Insel, Leipzig, 2020). In 2016, he ran in the presidential election in Iceland. Magnason lives in Reykjavik.
