Preti Taneja

Preti Taneja is a writer. Her first novel "We That Are Young", published in 2017, won the UK's most prestigious award for a debut, The Desmond Elliott Prize, and was named a 'Top 10 Fiction Book of the Decade' by India's The Hindu newspaper. Since 2019 the book is also available in Germany under the title "Wir, die wir jung sind" (C. H. Beck, Munich). Taneja lives in Newcastle upon Tyne and teaches creative writing at Newcastle University and in prisons.
